Boat of illegal immigrants reaches Cabrera

Palma.—A boat carrying eleven immigrants was located yesterday midday in the Natural Park of Cabrera.
The immigrants, thought to be Algerian, were transferred from Cabrera to the Port of s’Estanyol by the Guardia Civil before being taken to Guardia Civil barracks in Campos and Palma.
The 061 emergency service dispatched three vital support ambulances and a team of paramedics of s’Estanyol  in the event of the immigrants needing urgent medical attention, sources at the central government delegation to the Balearics confirmed.
It has been nearly two years since the last boats of illegal immigrants were intercepted in Cabrera. In July, 2012, a Guardia Civil maritime patrol, vessels spotted two boats with 15 immigrants on board just off Cabrera.
