A total of seven flights between the Balearics and France had to be cancelled yesterday because of the industrial action in France.
Five were cancelled in Palma and the other two in Ibiza.
According to airport authority AENA, by 5.15pm, a total of 29 flights were scheduled between France and Balearic airports, 21 of those with Palma, seven with Ibiza and just the one to Minorca.
Few other flights were affected although there were some delays to two flights bound for the UKbecause they have to pass through French airspace.
And, the industrial action is due to continue Sunday with airline fearing that flight disruption will escalate.
French unions announced they would be taking industrial action to show their opposition to the European Commission’s ‘Single Sky’ initiative, which they fear could result in job cuts.
