Palma.—The Balearic opposition Socialist party has  slammed Palma City Council and the local government for doing little to resolve the problem of Palma’s Convention Centre.
On 20 July it will be two years since construction work stopped and every month it stays like that and  Acciona, the company responsible for the construction works, adds an extra 470,000 euros to their bill. A spokeswoman for the party, Ana Calvo demanded the restart of the work, since Acciona has already received the 43 million euros it was due.
The problem is now an order given by Palma City Council senior officials to stop the works, which according to Calvo “was the wrong decision and one that it’s costing the tax payers’ money”.
