DEAR Mr. Manu Onieva, Mayor of Calvia. Firstly, I would like to congratulate you on your success as Mayor of Calvia. I think you are doing a good job and on behalf of Bulletin readers I would like to thank you for all your hard work on behalf of the foreign community living in Calvia. As I have said to councillor Angie Guerrero, Calvia is the area of Majorca which does the most for the foreign community. But there is one issue which continues to dog the Calvia area and that is Magalluf. This week I was pleased to see that a massive investment is being planned which is great for the area in the long term, but in the short term there are issues which need to be tackled. We are all stunned by the latest “sex video” which has been placed on social media sites, allegedly taken this month. I welcome your words on this subject and the police investigation which you have also announced but something needs to be done about Magalluf. We all need to work together to resolve the ills of this infamous resort. I would appeal to you to ask for the help of many people who have been involved in tourism in Magalluf and elsewhere on the island who would be more than willing to give you a helping hand. What concerns me is that the image of Magalluf is damaging the image of Calvia and even Majorca. I know that your powers are limited but the issue of Magalluf must be tackled once and for all. Best of luck
Jason Moore
