Lawyers representing the former President of the Balearics, Jaume Matas, said yesterday that it is highly likely that he will go to jail this week.
Matas has been found guilty of misusing his place in public office for his own personal gain.
Matas, who apart from being President of the Balearics was also a minister in the Spanish Government of Jose Maria Aznar, is expected to go to jail on the mainland.
