The Balearic Government has already allocated 1,1 million euros this year to help clean the waters of local beaches and Calas, as well as prevention plans, the Environment and Tourism department revealed yesterday.
The department confirmed that this money has helped increase the number of waste collection boats from 23 to 33.
The budget allocated to the cleaning and prevention planned has gone up by 122 percent this year. Almost half of it used on Majorcan waters (513,333 euros), 256,000 euros in Minorca and 330,000 in Ibiza and Formentera.
