THE alarms bells should be ringing and something has gone very badly wrong. At least 500 Britons have travelled to Iraq and Syria to join Islamic State (IS) fighters and one Briton is believed to be responsible for the beheading of U.S. journalist James Foley. Now, as usual there was the standard knee-jerk reaction from politicians but this issue is not new. It must be remembered that "radicalised" Britons were reponsible for the 7/7 London bombings. Britain has failed to stop the radicalisation of young British Muslims and basically they have now become the enemy within. If British troops are sent to fight in northern Iraq they will be fighting their own, young men who may even come from the same areas as they do. Young men who could even have gone to the same school. This is a rather sobering thought. How could this have happpened? Britain has a very serious problem and it is not going to go away. Everyone has a role to play to stop the radicalisation of young British muslims.
