Palma.—Construction works at Palma’s new Convention Centre suffered another set back yesterday, with the architect responsible for the work threatening to quit over a wage dispute.
Patxi Mangado claims he and his team are due 630,000 euros for the work they have done over the last few years, but the congress centre management only intends to pay half of that.
“This is outrageous. I will not start a bargaining war. It looks like I’m paying for the centre myself.
“I have already renounced 11 months salary but this goes over the limit. They should have some dignity. It’s sad but it looks like I’ll have to go elsewhere,” Mangado said.
