Palma.—The number of cruise passengers visiting Palma this year rose by just 0.8 percent in comparison to last year, bucking forecasts of a significant increase at the start of the year.
During the first seven months of this year, a total of 784,913 cruise passengers visited the capital, 0.8 percent more than during the same period last year.
However, the number of cruise ships docking in port fell by 1.16 percent to 342.
Nevertheless, the 0.8 percent increase is higher than the national average of 0.3 percent.
Nearly four million cruise passengers visited Spain between January and July and the country’s ports handled a total of 1,854 cruise ships, 3.2 percent less than during the same period last year.
