Palma.—The met. office forecast yesterday that this autumn, which started this morning at 4.29am, is going to be wetter but warmer than usual here in the Balearics.
Chief forecaster at the met. office, Angel Alcazar, said yesterday that the belt of rain which moved across the Balearics over the past few days, will disperse today but more unsettled weather is expected this weekend.
And, despite the first two weeks of September being hotter than August, the period between 1 and 17 September, was the third hottest first half of September since 1961, this summer has been one of the coolest for the past 15 years with no major heat waves.
Nevertheless, so far, this year has been much drier than normal with average rainfall seven percent less that usual.
