Support for anti oil prospecting movement in the Balearics is continuing to grow and the  Baleares Diu No confirmed yesterday that  75 European MP’s and 33 different political parties are now backing the cause.

Palma.—In a press statement released yesterday, the group (Balearics Says No) confirmed it sent  representatives to the European Parliament in Brussels on Tuesday  to demand that political parties in Spain stick to their promises and defend the Balearics and the Canary Islands from oil and gas prospecting projects.
The reason being, on 20 May five parties from the Balearics agreed to defend the cause at home and abroad, but up until now only four have done so: PSOE, EQUO, IU and Podemos.
The Partido Popular (PP) has up until now failed to deliver on that promise, hence the visit to Brussels.
And the delegation of representatives from Balearics Says No confirmed the trip was a success.
The group recently signed a manifest, vowing to increase and channel all efforts towards not only the anti  prospecting cause but also the development of alternative renewable energy sources in both the Balearics and the Canaries.
