Employment numbers in tourism in the Balearics went up by almost five percent this Summer, above the national average of 4,4 percent.
According to a report published yesterday, in August alone 1,54 million people were registered with Social Security services in Spain for working for a company in the tourist industry, a record figure in the last seven years.
National tourists and business trips went up this year, and were seen as the main reasons for the rise in employment figures. Business owners showed particular interest in hiring for the following positions: waiters, butlers, kitchen assistants, holiday resort entertainers and chefs.
