Majorca was one of the most popular tourist destinations for visitors to Spain between January and June this year.

Palma.—According to a report published yesterday by a hotel accommodation and price comparison website,  Majorca was the third most popular choice among tourists from the United Kingdom, Germany and Scandinavia.
Barcelona and Madrid topped the list respectively.
The Catalan capital was also the favourite destination for tourists from France, Italy, Holland, Norway, Sweden, Finland and Russia.
More so, the report confirmed that the majority of visitors to Spain prefer to stay in coastal areas.
Fifteen out of the 20 top destinations were located on the coast.
The majority of hotel reservations were made in Majorca, Ibiza, Tenerife, Grand Canaria and Lanzarote. Six destinations in Andalusia, four in Catalonia and three in Valencia were also on the list.
Among Spanish nationals, New York was once again the preferred holiday destination.
London, Paris, Rome and Berlin were next on the list. Several cities in the United States also saw a surge in bookings, including Las Vegas, Miami and Los Angeles.
Nonetheless, the city which recorded the biggest climb in the top 20 was Istanbul.
