Palma.—In total 210 Alcudia beach users were rescued by local lifeguards between June and August after being stung by jelly fish.
In what could initially be seen as a negative figure, results show it’s a decline of over 75 percent from last year’s numbers.
The introduction of safety nets a few metres from the coast were pointed out by the responsible of the emergency services, Maria Gonzalez, as the main reason behind the  decline.
In total 32 beach users were stung in June, 83 in July and 95 in August.
