Palma.—With the sharp decline in winter flights, especially to and from the United Kingdom, Palma’s Son San Joan airport, the busiest charter airport in Europe during the summer, is now starting to close some of its facilities.
The airport announced yesterday that module A is being closed because, being the zone which handles passengers from countries which are not part of the open boarders Schengen agreement, which includes the Unitedkingdom, it does not need to be open all winter because of the sharp drop of passengers the module will handle.
