Palma.—The investment in tourism infrastructures, hotels, cafes, restaurants and nightclubs, has grown this year by over 93 percent, boosting employment records in the region in the process.
According to reports revealed yesterday by the Balearic Construction Association, investment grew by 93,49 percent in Majorca and 95,32 percent in the Balearics between January and September this year.
Manuel Gomez, director of the association pointed out that “the growing pattern is good news” and is “having a positive impact on the sector”, meaning that the “technical recession experienced since 2007, has taken a turn, leading to the creation of new jobs since February.”
