Palma.—The Balearics are on the verge of having an official Protected Walks Federation, after different associations and platforms, which defend and protect such paths in the area decided to unite their efforts.
The Balearic Cycling Federation and Mountain Climbing Federation are also considering a merger with the new Protected Walks association.
This would mean, that for the first time in the area, it would be possible to maintain surveillance over the whole territory and respond to any potential attempt to privatise public areas in the region.
