Tunnel to be built from port to Andratx motorway

Palma.—Plans for the project have been on the table for  a long time, but it appears that finally, a tunnel is going to be built from the Dique del Oeste to the Andratx motorway.
The Council of Majorca and the Port Authority are going to be responsible for the project and, while the Council of Majorca has the funding, it is now waiting for the Port Authority to sign the agreement.
The main aim of the tunnel is going to be to divert as much heavy goods traffic off the Paseo Maritimo as possible this reducing traffic congestion along the sea front and increasing safety.
Traffic will run under the roundabout in front of Porto Pi from the port, taking traffic directly on to the motorway.
