Palma.—A Conservative Member of Parliament will table a motion in the House of  Commons calling for all expatriate Britons to be able to vote at the next general election.
At the moment only those who have lived outside Britain for less than 15 years are able to vote but the Conservative Party has promised to abolish this system and replace it with votes-for-life-for expats if they are re-elected at the next general election.
But one Conservative Member of Parliament believes that expats should be able to vote now rather than later.
Geoffrey Clifton Brown  Member of Parliament for the Cotswolds, who spends the summer in Deya, has announced plans to push for the expat vote next month.
“I was  pleased this week to receive confirmation that I am able to bring in a Ten Minute Rule Bill into the House of Commons which will abolish the 15 year rule which prevents British citizens residing overseas from voting in British elections if they have lived abroad for more than 15 years.
