“Smart tourism” app available in the Balearics from 2015

Tourists visiting the Balearics next year will be able to make the most of their trip thanks to a new app being developed by the Balearic government. Part of a project entitled “Intelligent Tourism Escape”, the app, will allow visitors to access via their smarthphones and tablets, all the information they need ahead and during their trip, including what type of accommodation there is on offer, sports and cultural events both locally and regionally.
Over 800,000  euros are expected to be invested in the app, which the government expects to introduce progressively into the market from January onwards.
