The Balearics and the Canary islands were the two regions in Spain with the highest hotel occupation rate last month, with 76 and 60 percent respectively.
Over 26 million overnight stays were recorded throughout the country last month, with reports confirming foreign visitors preferred the islands and Catalonia to spend their time, while Spanish nationals headed in their majority to Andalusia and Valencia.
