Palma.—British and German tourists helped the Balearics rank second in the country with regards to the number of international visitors up until November.
According to a report released yesterday, 11,2 million overseas visitors visited the islands during that period, a figure only surpassed by Catalonia.
Figures represent a 2.7 percent increase from the same period last year.
British and German visitors boosted the overall figures, with the latter market registering an increase of over 40 percent.
The number of overseas visitors to the region has now registered six consecutive months of growth.
Overall figures in Spain were also positive, with a total of 61,7 million visitors visiting the Mediterranean country up until last month, 7.2 percent more than in 2013, and once again showing the importance of Tourism to turn the country’s delicate financial situation around.
