Palma.—This winter has been the busiest for many of Palma’s bars and restaurants since the recession began, according to the President of the Majorcan Restaurant Association, Alfonso Robledo.
He said that on the weekends, most of the city’s best and most popular restaurants are fully booked and reserving a table has become a must over the past few months.
Robledo claims that the recovery in consumer confidence and the revival of the local economy are the two main driving forces behind the up turn in business.
That said, a good weekend does not mean a good month and the sector as a whole is still hoping for further improvement.
But, Robledo said that many of the establishments have moved with the times and responded to the shift in the markets and the habits of clients while at the same time making sure that they are offering value for money, that is the key, he stressed.
