The Association Salvem Portocolom (Save Portocolom) yesterday announced they are actively taking measures to stop the Balearic Port Authority’s plans to privatise the Portocolom lighthouse in Felanitx.
The authorities plan to turn the lighthouse into a hotel and have similar plans for another five lighthouses across the islands, Cap Blanc in Llucmajor, Ciutadella, Barbaria, La Moia in Formentera, Soller and Portocolom.
And the plans, already approved by all the councils affected are already in an advanced stage in three of those locations.
