Editorial: A great day

When I wrote the initial story about the first lunch meeting of the Bulletin Subscribers Club  I said that it would be a meeting of many different nationalities who are united in one goal, their love for Majorca and this was certainly the case yesterday. The event at Marc Fosh´s Misa restaurant was attended by Britons, Americans, Scandanavians, Germans and Spaniards. They came together at a fantastic venue and had a great time. And it was great to see it. Special praise must go to Utz Claassen, the chairman of Real Mallorca football club. As I have said elsewhere in this newspaper today, he had a very busy day at the club but still made time to attend our lunch. His presence was greatly appreciated. And also he rather sums up the ethos of our subscribers club. He is German, who loves the island, and has put his money where his mouth is and  invested heavily in the island and it’s football club. So we are already planning the second lunch meeting of our subscribers club which will take place next month at a venue to be announced.  We want to visit all parts of the island from Pollensa to Andratx and from Cala d´Or  to Soller. The ball is rolling. As we announced yesterday we are introducing a loyalty card for our subscribers club which will allow them to receive discounts at top island attractions. Thank you to all those who attended yesterday and hope to see you again next month. A great start thanks to you.
