Palma.—Majorcan museums have followed the example which has been set by some of the world’s leading museums, such as MOMA in New York, the National Gallery in London and the Louvre in Paris, and banned selfies and the use of selfie sticks inside their establishments.
Sources at Es Baluard Museum in Palma explained this week that it is not permitted to enter the museum with any kind of item which could pose a threat to the objects on exhibition.
On entry, selfie sticks, umbrellas and rucksacks, have to de deposited at reception.
Unlike many museums, photographs are permitted inside Es Baluard, but no objects which could damage the art are permitted on the premises.
