Nearly 300,000 people visited Bellver Castle last year and the historic monument hosted 90 different events and activities, according to the Palma Councillor for Culture and Sports, Fernando Gilet, who yesterday presented the list of events planned for this year.
Gilet said that the main aim is to convert the castle into one of the city’s main cultural hubs.
Last year, the castle generated some 559,819 euros, nearly nine percent more than in 2013 and the council hopes that visitor figures and takings will continue to increase over the course of this year.
Bellver Castle received 292,617 visitors last year
