With summer approaching and UK travellers beginning to research their holidays, hotel search website trivago.co.uk has compiled a list of 10 up-and-coming destinations.
Searches made during 2013 were compared with searches made during 2014, to select 10 destinations with the largest increase in searches and the most likely to figure as up and coming destinations for summer bookings. Short-haul destinations in Europe dominated the list with Cala Ratjada leading with a daily holiday price tag of just 76 pounds. And, the strength of the pound is expected to have an important affect on people’s decisions this year.
The highest ranked Asian destination was Velha, in Goa India with an average price tag of 51 pounds in fourth place and Thailand’s Ban Tao beach in Phuket in fifth place.
The Thai beach destination had an average price tag of a 138 pounds, the second highest on the top 10 list.
The other Asian destination to figure in the top 10, was Legian beach in Bali, Indonesia with an average price of 65 pounds.
