The Income Campaign for 2014 was launched yesterday, a week later than usual because of the Easter holidays.
The campaign starts with taxpayers being able to ask for the draft of their tax details (available via the Tax Agency’s website ww.agenciatributaria.es), known as the “borrador”. In order to obtain the reference number to enable access to this system, the fiscal number (NIF or NIE) needs to be given along with information from the 2013 tax return and a mobile telephone number.
Confirmations of the draft tax declaration and so therefore refund (or tax owed) for 2014 will be made via the Tax Agency’s website or by telephone (SMS) between now and the end of June. In either case, if the tax draft involves refund or payment, confirmation will have to be made no later than 25 June. There is a novelty this year in that there is a program called PADRE, which is a simplified system that should allow refunds to be made earlier. If a payment has to be made to the Tax Agency, this can be staggered, as in previous years.
