The summer season’s arrangements for safety on the beaches of Playa de Muro have been announced, and they include an increase by one to the number of lifeguards and to the permanent stationing of an advanced life support ambulance in the resort. There will also be some surveillance cameras. These will not be trained on sunbathers, you will be pleased to know, but will be used to try and protect constructions by the beach (the wooden huts for the lifeguards for instance) and the old towers from vandalism. There had been a previous call for security cameras on the beach because of the sun bed wars and the vandalism which left numerous sun beds slashed on more than one occasion. That all seems to have died down though.
