Investigating judge José Castro has complied more than one hundred volumes and 76,000 pages that comprise the case he has put together in respect of the Noos Institute.
He submitted all this documentation for the prosecution to the Balearic Provincial High Court yesterday, and the court itself has named a three-judge panel that will oversee the case.
These will be the court’s president, Juan Pedro Yllanes, Eleonor Moyà and Samantha Romero, who will act draft the judgement.
Up to eighteen accused will appear in court. They include Princess Cristina, the sister of King Felipe, her husband, Iñaki Urdangarin the Duke of Palma, and various businesspeople and officials from the Balearics, Valencia and Madrid. The date for the trial has yet to be set, Judge Romero having been given time to be fully instructed in the case.
At the centre of the case that Castro has compiled is the allegation that 6.2 million euros of public money was diverted through a business network that was hatched by Urdangarin and his former business partner at the Noos Institute, Diego Torres.
