PP and El Pi to continue in alliance in Andratx

El Pi, Proposta per les Illes, which has held the key to the make-up of the next administration at the town hall in Andratx, has decided to maintain its pact with the Partido Popular and not opt for an alternative with Més and PSOE. As a consequence, the El Pi and PP candidates for mayor will share the post during the new administration. Katia Rouarch for the regionalist El Pi party will be mayor for the final two years, taking over from the PP’s Jaume Porsell, whose investiture as mayor will be confirmed on Saturday.
Of 35 members of the El Pi local board, 27 were in favour of continuing the alliance with the PP, and under the agreement that has been reached, El Pi, in addition to sharing the position of mayor, will have responsibility for, among other things, trade, roads and public works, fairs and fiestas and social services.
The success of the pact between the regionalist El Pi and the PP under the latter’s mayor Llorenç Suau over the past four years was a crucial factor in renewing the alliance, now to be led (for the first two years) by Porsell.
