Number of divorce cases on the rise in the Balearics

National statistics state that the number of divorces in the Balearics increased in 2014, there having been 2,391 in all. By divorce, the data also include figures for separation and annulment.

Of these, there were ten more official separations (117 in all) and two annulments (down by one from 2013).

All together, these amount to a divorce rate of 2.2 per 1,000 inhabitants of the Balearics, which is fractionally lower than the national average of 2.3.
