The thirty-day period for submitting proposals for events to be included in Palma’s 2016 tourism promotion has been opened.
Anyone or any organisation meeting requirements set out by the Palma 365 Foundation can present up to a maximum of three proposals, the purpose of this being, explained tourism councillor Joana Maria Adrover today, to complement the foundation’s plan through collaboration on other projects that will assist in combating tourism seasonality and attracting visitors in the low season.

The foundation, for its part, will be making available a maximum of one million euros in helping the development of these projects. Areas of tourism activity that are being stressed are those related to culture, sport and gastronomy. Projects would be planned for January to March and in November and December and would also need to be attractive to ensure the interest of tour operators, travel agencies, hoteliers, airlines and shipping companies.

The call for proposals has been published on the Official Bulletin of the Balearics and on the town hall’s website in order to ensure principles of transparency and to meet the commitment for all-year events to turn Palma into a genuine 365-days-a-year destination.
