Puerto Pollensa celebrates nautical sports

The second Race and Boat Show at Puerto Pollensa's yacht club started on Friday evening and continued yesterday. Featured among other events was a jetski race, as hundreds of people went to see exhibits and to enjoy a giant paella that had been prepared for lunch.

The show continues today (Sunday), finishing at 7pm. One of the final attractions will be a wine-tasting at 6.30pm. There is to be another jetski race at 11am and two more paddle surf races (midday and 4pm).

A slight element of controversy with all this has been the fact that publicity was prepared in Castellano and English and not Catalan. This has led to some local political questioning as to why.
