It has been an issue which stirred up a minor controversy in the town: should women be added to the men who traditionally perform the Cossier folk dances. In the end, the people of the town decided that they should. Yesterday was, therefore, the final time that an all-male dance troupe took the streets in the Damun area of the town. The next time that the Cossiers appear - for the fiestas of Sant Roc - they will feature two women.
