My feelings entirely, but according to one report the spectators were asked / told to leave the corner by a track official as it was a dangerous position to be standing in. This they did but went back again after he had left.
Total sympathy goes to the injured and to their friends and families. Clearly, until a full investigation has been conducted and the conclusions published, this is not the place for recriminations or guesswork BUT I hope there is speed, accuracy, and an open attitude that will hopefully prevent any repetition.
