Although not yet officially confirmed, it would appear that a 64-year-old man this afternoon deliberately set fire to his apartment on the second floor of a building in Soller. It is understood that he had an argument with his partner and that it was this which provoked him into setting fire to the property on calle Romaguera.

Another apartment was affected, and the area was cordoned off while fire crews tackled the blaze, which was extinguished by 18.30. Tram services had to be suspended.
