The Argos restaurant at the Hotel La Goleta in Puerto Pollensa is one of two new Majorcan recipients of a Michelin star for 2017. The Argos chef, Álvaro Salazar, is at 31 the youngest chef in Majorca to have received the distinction.

The other new star goes to the Adrián Quetglas Restaurant in Palma. With these two new additions, the number of Michelin stars in Majorca rises to nine.

Notable among other recipients of stars in the new edition of the Michelin Guide is the Basque chef Martin Berasategui, who becomes the first Spanish chef to have two restaurants with three stars: these are the Restaurante Martín Berasategui Lasarte in Gipuzkoa and the Restaurante Lasarte in Barcelona (actually in the calle Mallorca).

The other seven restaurants in Majorca with a Michelin star are: Andreu Genestra, Capdepera; Bou, Sa Coma; Es Fum, Costa d'en Blanes; Es Recó des Teix, Deya; Jardín, Puerto Alcudia; Simply Fosh, Palma; and Zaranda (which has two), Es Capdella.
