These fairs are just a "jolly" and waste of money. Hotels, flights, taxis, expenses paid dinners out in London etc
I live in Cala D'or in the summer it's packed end of October it's like a ghost town a thieves paradise more needs to be done for these areas
I suspect these events to promote summer tourism are just a "jolly" for the officials concerned. This island sells itself in the summer. What's needed is an all-singing all-dancing multi-lingual website full of reliable information on events and accommodation that will, in particular, promote off-peak tourism.
A New Stand for Winter Promotions is needed. Plus more Attractions created in the Winter. More Hotels to remain OPEN., and NOT just in PALMA> Where they will be full of in transit stop over Flight Crews. For nearly 40 years that I am aware of, the rest of the Island remains CLOSED in the Winter. So, MORE FLIGHTS, MORE ATTRACTIONS, LESS ALL INCLUSIVE HOTEL TARIFFS, and support the self employed businesses.
