The first PORTes OBERTes fair in Porto Cristo takes place on Saturday and Sunday. It will feature a large number of attractions and activities: a boat show, boating activities, master shipwrights, travelling shows, exhibitions, live music, street market, seafood tapas, regattas, visits to the caves, storytelling and craftsmen's demonstrations.

The fair is taking place in Porto Cristo's large natural harbour. Manacor's tourism and culture councillor, Antònia Llodrà, says that the aim is to make Porto Cristo known as an attractive place for all those who want to associate themselves with "the naturalness of our coastline, with sailing and with our seafaring culture". The event is the result of the collaboration and involvement of nautical and tourist businesses in the area.

Visitors going to Porto Cristo tomorrow and on Sunday will be able to enjoy a large exhibition of boats to be displayed by participating nautical businesses and to also go on boat and speedboat trips, to jet-ski, to try stand-up paddle and to watch the regattas. In addition, and on dry land, there will be all kinds of cultural activities, like live performances, seafood tapas and various exhibitions.
