Roads in the Tramuntana Mountains were closed yesterday as the Arctic front dominating Majorca's weather at present produced snow down to 300 metres. Stretches of the main MA-10, which runs the length of the mountain range from Andratx to Pollensa, were closed.

The Council of Majorca's transport department has advised drivers to take precautions when driving in the mountains. Further snow is forecast for today. An Aemet yellow warning for snow is in place at least until the middle of this afternoon.

In parts of the north of the island yesterday there was torrential rain which resulted in some localised flooding. This was accompanied by winds with a severe chill factor.

Highs today will be around 12 degrees. Morning lows are down to two degrees.
