The National Police are looking for four men - three Spaniards and an Argentine - who stole more than 600,000 euros worth of jewellery and 45,000 euros cash from a Palma apartment.

On 17 November at around one in the afternoon, one of the four went to the apartment near to the Via Alemania courts in the city. The owner, an 81-year-old woman, was told that he was from a electricity company and that there was a fault with her electricity supply that needed repairing. She let him and he was followed by the three others, who all claimed to also be electricians.

In addition to the non-existent electricity fault, they said there was a problem with the gas as well. Distracted by members of the gang, the woman only became aware of the thefts after they had left.
