Two British tourists, brothers aged 20 and 26, have been arrested in Playa de Palma by the National Police and charged with causing deliberate damage to the hotel room in which they were staying.

On Tuesday, security at a hotel were alerted by a great deal of noise that was emanating from a room on the fifth floor. The two occupants were throwing bottles and furniture into the street, while inside the room they had caused damage to, among other things, a hair dryer, doors, skirting boards, a desk and the toilet.

The hotel management formally denounced the two at the National Police station in Playa de Palma, and the arrests followed. An estimate of the damage caused is at least 2,000 euros.
