The airport to resorts bus service will restart at the beginning of next month. The forecast is that the number of passengers this season will exceed the 180,000 who were carried in 2017.
Jaume Mateu, the government's transport director-general, says that in June there will be a publicity campaign through local media (press and radio) directed at residents and another via social media and digital newspapers for European visitors.
Aerotib, the name of the service, has also been promoted at the travel and tourism fairs in London and Berlin. Mateu adds that after the first year's experience, the government considers the service to be established. He expects higher passenger numbers because tourists, tour operators and airport workers are all more aware of it.
The routes will be as in 2017: to Alcudia Bay; Cala d'Or; Cala Millor; and Calvia (Palmanova, Magalluf, Santa Ponsa, Paguera). The latter route had the highest usage last year - 80,000 passengers. A reason for this was the use made of the service by airport workers who live in Calvia.
A new route, to Cala Ratjada, will be introduced in 2019 as part of the overhaul of bus service concessions in Majorca.

One thing for sure, its a plate-spinning exercise trying to keep all parties reasonably happy.
Timetable can be downloaded from tib website. Easy. But Better promotion with more frequency would help. Advertising it but not increasing capacity will kill it, as having to wait for well over an hour if you've just missed one and then trying to get on the next one with loads of fresh arrivals would not be a good welcome to Mallorca. S. Caught an Aerotib at tail end of October last year. That's when the season ends as well. Winter timetable started on the first Nov.

Behave yourself Tom, people do not hire cars solely to get from the airport to their destination. Fiona, they were advertised and also highlighted big style in the bulletin. S, get a grip, supply and demand and do your homework, its easy. Zaax, that would be good.

Put more routes on and a more frequent service
There is a great demand for this form of transport - taxi drivers objected for years. What European city do you fly into that you cannot get buses/trains directly out of !!!We need them more frequently. It was not even advertised at all last year and each time I took the Calvia one it was busy. It should include more destinations.Helps significantly to reduce congestion on the roads !!!
Last year I was looking forward to using The Aerotib Bus Service. Delighted with the concept and the routes to where I wanted to be on the Island. To my total dismay , I arrived at the Airport at the beginning of October, to find the Service had finished in September !!!. Thank you Aerotib for not publishing this finish of the Service. I wonder what will be the period of this Service this Season ?.
