British woman arrested for "running over" ex-husband’s partner

On Tuesday afternoon, a Guardia patrol came across an injured woman who was being attended to by a group of people. She was lying on the road in calle Federico Garcia Lorca (Magalluf) with her legs on the pavement.

Eye witnesses told the Guardia that a vehicle had mounted the pavement, had run the victim over and had then fled the scene at high speed.

While a team of paramedics treated her at the scene, the Guardia Civil and Calvia police started a search for the vehicle. Half an hour later, a vehicle occupied by two women, which matched eye-witness descriptions, was detected in Cala Vinyes.

The Guardia were able to confirm that the victim was the partner of the driver’s ex-husband and arrested the driver.
