The latest megayacht appeared in Palma on Thursday. The spectacular and futuristic "Palladium" arrived at the Club de Mar. Ninety-six metres in length, it belongs to the Russian magnate Mikhail Prokhorov. Valued at 200 million dollars, it was built in 2010 at the Blohm & Voss shipyard in Hamburg.

Its shape and lines were inspired by dolphins. The designer was Briton Michael Leach. For the design, conception and power of the yacht, he was a winner of a World Superyacht Award. Among its facilities are a swimming pool, a jacuzzi and a heliport.

Also in Palma at present are "Limitless", a 96-metre yacht owned by the American Les Wexner; the "Venus", designed by Phillippe Starck and originally owned by Steve Jobs; and the 60-metre "Sea Pearl", which was built by Oceanco in the Netherlands.

Palma is one of the main Mediterranean destinations for megayachts along with ports such as Ibiza, Antibes, Monaco, Portofino and Saint-Tropez.
