Three streets in Cala Serena (Felanitx) have been cordoned off by the local police. Today is due to be last day for the closure. Filming which has been taking place is scheduled to end.
The filming is for Turn Up Charlie, a Netflix comedy series. It was co-created by and stars Idris Elba*, the Golden Globe award-winner who received an OBE in the 2016 New Year's Honours List. The leading actress is American Piper Perabo, known for playing CIA agent Annie Walker in Covert Affairs.
Also a DJ, Idris Elba did a session in Ibiza on Sunday and is due to have a residence as a DJ on the island. His role in Turn Up Charlie is one of a struggling DJ.
There is to be more filming once the work in Cala Serena is concluded. Elba hasn't been involved so far. He is arriving on Friday. Piper Perabo is already in Majorca. A big party is to be filmed that will use four locations. Some 300 extras have been hired locally.
Principal photography for the series started in London in May.
