Britons arrested in Puerto Pollensa drugs swoop

Officers from the National Police were acting on advice from the anti-drugs prosecution service, which believed that a cannabis association in Puerto Pollensa should be investigated for possible drug trafficking. The premises are run by the British couple, and the Spanish woman works there.

The investigation established that there were a large number of purchasers who would go to the premises and then leave shortly afterwards. They were taking small amounts of hash or marijuana with them. Several promotional videos were placed on YouTube. These showed the three offering drugs at different prices.

Operation "Ashtray" was therefore launched. Around quarter past seven on Monday evening, the premises were raided by several police units. The three were arrested for offences against public health, i.e. selling drugs, and nine customers were asked to show their identity. Nine offences were lodged, including one for carrying a prohibited weapon, a knife. Police seized 2.5 kilos of marijuana, five grams of hash, eight pots of hashish resin and 570 euros.
