A 21-year-old German tourist was arrested on Wednesday morning after the National Police received a complaint about alleged rape by a young woman of nineteen. He appeared in court yesterday and was released without charges.

Police went to a hotel in Playa de Palma around half eight, the alleged incident having occurred between Tuesday night and early on Wednesday. The tourist was arrested, the woman having told police that there had initially been consent but that she had changed her mind. He then proceeded to force her to have sex.

In connection with this arrest, the National Police in the Balearics have put out a message on their Twitter account saying that whether there's a fiesta or not, whether it's the beach or hotel, no means no.
